Winter House Recipe Box

Good afternoon everyone.
I hope this finds you all happy and healthy.

I know I have not been around much lately. Corbin went home last week and I have been trying to play catch up. I know I still have some blogs to catch up on leaving some blog lovin. Hang in there I will get it all caught up by weeks end.

Today I have for you this what I think is a very cute Winter House Recipe Box. I ran across this project by Laura from Following The Paper Tail a long time ago. I had it on my to do list and decided about a month ago to do it as soon as Corbin went home. Laura had decorated hers to look like a Gingerbread house. I know how popular she is and figured there must to have been many made as her was. I wanted to be a little different and move away from the gingerbread look.

Laura also used envelopes for the expanding section that holds the recipe inserts. I made one up and found it to be a little flimsy and felt it would not hold up very well. I used her expanding folder tutorial creating it with card stock which is much strong and has MUCH better look.

The recipe inserts are double sided. One side has a place to write the Recipe name and Ingredients. Flip it over and there is where you would write the directions.

I really love how it turned out and the pics do not do it justice. I MUST get my photo area set back up. Trying to take pics in this room without it results in bad pics.
