HAVE FUN & spread the word!

For this challenge I wanted to finish the quilt I started when my grandson was here a few weeks ago. Here are pics of the 20 individual blocks.

These first 12 are machine embroidered.

These next 8 are machine appliqued.

This is a pic of the blocks laid out after we decided what order they would be sew in.

And finally the finished quilt.. (Sorry about the pics.. too late and too dark)

The back the dot fabric is really a light blue but with the lighting in here this late it does not show it very well.

Recipe:
- Blue Jean Material for blocks on front
- Snuggle Fabric for blocks on back
- Sulky Thread
- Singer Futura Quartet
- Coats & Clark Machine Quilting Thread
- Scrap material for all the appliqued blocks
- Boys Dress Up Embroidery File from BunnyCup.com

    1. Thanks Norma. I use embroidery files that I send from my computer to the Futura. I just got both my machines in the past few month and love them. It makes embroidering so EASY... I have now embroidered 4 quilts. I played around when my BFF was here doing the applique and it was so easy I knew it would be something I would do often. lol

I really love using the file from BunnyCup, they stitch out so smoothly and turn out so pretty.

If you wanna chat about it more send me a email and we can set up a time to talk.

  3. OK Nana You have now convinced me that an embroider machine is my next new toy! My daughter is expecting our first grandchild in December and I've always thought that an embroidery machine would be needed when the grands started making their way in to my life. Your quilt is awesome! Let the comparisons begin!

    1. I had always wanted one but never wanted to spend the money they cost. lol. My grandson is why I finally dove in. Hubby bought me the Singer Futura Quarter for Christmas this past year and I love it. Very easy to learn to use. I thought at the time since it is a sewing machine as well I would give my daughter my sewing machine. Well that did not work very well. I needed to be sewing while the embroidery machine was do it thing. So 2 months ago I purchased another Quartet.

Hope you are able to find a machine you like. It is a investment you want regret.
