It has taken me 2 days to complete 7 blocks. I have 13 more to go. Maybe I will get them done and quilt together before he leaves this weekend.

Thought I would share pics of them.

  3. Oh wow! This is fantastic! How wonderful! You are so talented girl! I pinned this! Okay, so I have to tell you a story...of course...I am from a family of 14 children and I am right in the middle..7 older and 6 younger..so it seemed like my mom was always pregnant. When I was about 4 years old, I went to visit my grandmother's aunt. Her name was Mary and she was about 80 years old. She had a "tummy" so I asked her is she was going to have a baby! I didn't know...anyway, she was so tickled by that, she told everyone about it and she made me a quilt. A beautiful quilt with little girls wearing bonnets on their heads. It was so precious to me because it was mine! I didn't have to share it with anyone else! To this day it is something that I own and love. Because of the way I grew up, if you tell me you like something of mine, I will give it to you (except my man) I'm not very attached to material things, but I love that quilt. Wouldn't take a million for it!

    1. I too have a Sue Bonnet Sure quilt that my grandmother gave me as a little girl. It hangs on my wall in the hall way. My grandmother was the one that encouraged me to learn to quilt and it has been a life long hobby. I have to say out of all the crafting hobbies I have quilting is my fav. I still do about 4 quilts a ago that are made by hand from start to finish. No cheating by using rotary cutters for cutting out the blocks or anything. However, I really love making the Rag Quilts they are quilts that made to be used and can just be thrown in he washer and dryer not like a hand made quilt that requires hand washing. I want people to be able to use them and use them often.
