Embossing Folder Storage Box

Hello everyone.
This is my second post for today.
If you have not checked out my first post you can HERE.

For a long time I have been looking for a way to store my embossing folders that would be easy to access and be more organized. Yesterday after looking once again at pre-made storage units I decided to just make my own. I look at a few in the Silhouette Store but felt since they would be made out of card stock they would not last very long at all. I wanted one that was strong and would last for years.

I'm a HUGE fan of Kathy from Paper Phenomenon. Using her techniques for making boxes with chipboard and card stock hinges I designed a beautiful and very functional box to store my folders in that is very easy to access and will last for many years.

It took about a hour to design the box and get all the measurements calculated. I wanted 3 sections in the box.

The finished box is 12x12x8.
The 2 side sections are a little over 5 inches wide and the middle 1 1/2 inches wide.

Next was deciding on the card stock I would use to decorate it.
In my stash I had the graphic 45 The Magic of Oz for several years now. Since I do not scrapbook it was never used. I could not bring my self to cut up the beautiful pages for cards. They needed to be used on a larger projects to keep the images in tact.

I knew I wanted dividers to separate the folders. I used the Print n Cut on the Silhouette to print the tab labels and cut them out.

Last but not least I need to decide on a top. I first thought about a lift off lid and then it hit me I could use my cinch and have the lid open like a book.

So with further ado here are a few pics. Hope you like it as much as me.

Back side view. Both sides have the green checked paper.

Front view. Front and back have the same image.

Hope you enjoyed taking a look at my new project.
